Take some extra time to enjoy the ride. This is our most popular transfer option which features live tour commentary and photo stops at Beluga Point and Canyon Creek Overlook (Seward) or Beluga Point and Portage Glacier (Whittier).

Also included on all sightseeing tour transfers is an approximately one hour visit to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center to view Alaska's most famous animals up close in a natural setting. During this visit you'll get great pictures of real live Bears, Moose, Muskox, Caribou, Bison, and more. This is the perfect way to start or end your Alaska cruise.

Our Full Day Tour from Whittier also includes the stops on the 3 hour tour plus a tram ride up scenic Alyeska Mountain in Girdwood with majestic views of Turnagain Arm and Glacier Valley, additional photo stop at Potters Marsh, and a full city tour of Anchorage including the historic downtown, Ship Creek, Earthquake Park, Lake Hood Float Plane Harbor, and Alaska Wildberry Products. Lunch is included.

  • The Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center

    anchorage shuttle to seward

With over 200,000 visitors every year, this is one of Alaska's most popular attractions and is featured on each sightseeing transfer tour with Anchorage Tours and Transfers.

Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center (AWCC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving Alaska's wildlife through public education. AWCC takes in injured and orphaned animals year-round and provides spacious enclosures and quality animal care.

Animals that cannot be released into the wild are given a permanent home at the center.

Amateur photographers have the opportunity to take award winning photographs while animals display their natural, "wild", behavior. Coyotes peer out from behind the brush while a bald eagle swoops in on the salmon remains left by a grizzly bear. Wood Bison plod through 65 acres of tidal flat terrain, as part of a program that will one day restore the species to the Alaskan wilderness.

Seward cruise transfer

  • Will I be able to get off the cruise ship in time to make the shuttle departure time?

Yes, as long as you do not greatly delay your disembarcation from the ship. Ships arriving in Seward typically begin disembarking around 7:00 am and ships arriving in Whittier begin around 7:30 am. The Seward shuttle is scheduled to depart at 8:30 am and the Whittier shuttle at 9:00 am. The guide/driver has a passenger manifest and will delay departure as long as he can if he has not accounted for all passengers and he will attempt to contact you by cell phone if you have provided one. On Whittier transfers it is especially important to try to be punctual since the driver needs to make the 9:00 tunnel opening out of Whittier.

  • I don't know which hotel I'll be staying at yet. Can I still make a reservation?

Yes, you can go ahead an make your reservation and just put "unknown" in the "Pick-up/Drop-off" field. That way you secure your spot before the date fills up. After you have determined your exact pick-up or drop-off location, be sure to tell us. If we haven't heard from you within about a week of your trip, we will try to contact you.

  • Is there anything to eat on the shuttle?

Food is not offered on the shuttle, but there is a snack bar at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center with food available for purchase. They have hamburgers, hot dogs, reindeer dogs, soup, popcorn, pretzels, chips, candy bars, sandwiches, pastries, sodas, energy drinks, coffee, hot chocolate, water, etc. There is also a lunch provided on our Full Day Tours.

  • Are there bathrooms available?

There are bathrooms at the cruise terminals, at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, and at the Canyon Creek Overlook stop (Seward transfers).

  • Will I see wild animals along the trip?

They will certainly be seen at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. It is also very likely to see some animals along the highway. The most common are eagles, Dall sheep (mountain sheep), and beluga whales. Eagles are more common in May and early June. Beluga whales are most often seen in August and September. There is also a chance of seeing moose and a small chance of seeing black bears. When wildlife is spotted, the driver will attempt to pull over and allow passengers a chance to get out for pictures if in a place he/she can safely do so.

  • Is it customary to tip the driver?

Yes, your driver is very appreciative of tips. 10% to 20% is customary.
